Charles Skinner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Home - Pace Chapel on Feb. 24, 2026.
Charles 'Buddy' Skinner was born in Ranburne, Ala. on July 19, 1937, and passed away on February 22, 2026. He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, Fred and Eula Skinner; brother, Carlos Skinner; sister, Cleo Richardson; His wife of 41 years, Betty Skinner; Three sons, Ronald, Steve, and Richard Blanton; And three grandchildren, Jason and Jenny Robinson, and Guy Potter Jr.

Buddy is survived by four daughters, Diane Skinner, Marie Bennett, Beverly (Rufus) Phillips, Dede (Tommy) Barrett; three sons, James Skinner, Lewis Blanton, and Roger Blanton; A long life friend and brother-in-law, Clinton Richardson; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and a countless number of nieces and nephews.

Buddy was an iron worker/welder all his life and ended his career retiring from Fluor Daniels. He enjoyed family get togethers, it did not matter what they were- a fish fry, a cookout, card games, or Bunko, as long as the kids were there and we were laughing. Buddy enjoyed coon hunting in his younger days but was very much into fishing in his later years. It did not matter what kind of fish- bass, bream, or catfish, as long as he caught fish. He and his wife would spend hours on the river fishing; she loved it as much as he did. With sad faces and hearts full of memories, we say goodbye for now. Go rest high Daddy, your work here is done.
