Charles Fisher Smith

Charles Fisher Smith, Jr., born July 23, 1941 to Charles Fisher Smith, Sr. and Sarah Frances Shearon Smith, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 15, 2026.

Charles is survived by his two sons, Charles Fisher Smith III (Lebanon,TN) and Thomas Edward Smith (Atlanta, GA), grandson Charles Alexander Smith (Lebanon, TN), great-grandchildren Blake Alexander Smith, Sarah Kay Nicole Smith, Ryland Asher Smith, Mason Reid Smith and Karsyn Jayce McGill, his sister Frances Smith Dickie, sister-in-law Darlene Smith, 3 nieces, 3 nephews and 6 1st cousins.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Allen Carroll Smith, and granddaughter Sarah Nicole Smith.

Charles was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon High School and earned his bachelor's degree from David Lipscomb University. His first job was on Wall Street. From there, he pursued the insurance business in TX and TN and later formed Chappell Smith Associates with Tom Chappell. Charles called himself a serial entrepreneur. At one point, he was an owner in 14 businesses. He was an avid golfer, a wicked gin player, and a Master Bridge champion. He served on several boards throughout Nashville, was a founding member of the Nashville Bridge Club, and was a longstanding member of Richland County Club.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Partlow Funeral Chapel from 3 p.m.- 7 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7 p.m.
