Charles Orin Stager passed away peacefully on 3/18/2024. He was born to Orin Purdy Stager and Margaret Elizabeth Stager on 7/31/1938 in Tacoma, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Anita Pearson and Shirley Ramsdell.
His love of reading and learning along with a strong work ethic and striving for excellence were attributes he used to lead his family by example. It also served him well on his career path. He served his country in the national guard. In the Fire service he started as a volunteer firefighter and rose to Chief of Department. He then moved on to manager of Firgrove Water Company, Co-Owner of Irrigation Services and finally, Teacher at Green River Community College. He then retired, moved to Goldendale, Washington and built their dream home and lived there for 19 years where he and his wife, Marilyn enjoyed the peace and quiet of country living.
In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, hiking, and camping but always loved spending time with family. One of his favorite things to do was teasing his children and grandchildren but most of all the dogs.
Chuck loved the Lord. He supported the churches where he attended and also contributed to missionary work which included missions in the U.S., Canada, Africa, Peru and Nicaragua.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Marilyn for 61 years. They have 2 children:
Christine (Thomas) Takayoshi, daughter and Orin (Karen) Stager, son. Grandchildren: Justin (Jenna) Takayoshi, Joshua (Kerry) Takayoshi, Hollie (Solomon) Noellien, Elizabeth Stager, and Megan Stager. Great Grandchildren: Sawyer and Madden Takayoshi.
