Charles Forrest Stallings was born on March 5th, 1957 to Naomi (Whiting) Stallings of Virginia and William Stallings of North Carolina in Brooklyn, NY. Of that union Charles was the middle child of 3 sons, including Garnet and Santee. Charles was described as a loving child who showed care and concern for others. This trait carried on throughout his life as he was known to shed many tears of emotion when confronting personal and family matters. Charles received his formal education through the NYC Dept. of Education School System mostly in Brooklyn but also in Bayside (Queens), NY where he was bussed in as part a program to help integrate the schools during the Civil Rights Era.
Charles took great interest in the Building Maintenance field where he received NYC Certifications in Carpentry, Plumbing, and Electrical work.
During his early adult years, he fathered four sons: Aaron Stallings, Angel Branch, Kyle Broadnex, and Elson Pickering. He took great pride in their development and accomplishments.
Charles enjoyed styling and profiling as you could never catch him without one of his signature Fedora hats which he always color coordinated with his outfits. Charles channeled his inner Captain Nemo with his love of fishing. While living in Brooklyn he would carry his fishing rods and tackle box over to the Canarsie Piers to spend countless hours fishing and reflecting on life.
Later in his adulthood he had the opportunity to embrace being a grandfather to four granddaughters: Kailynn Stallings, Reagan Stallings, Angelle Branch, and Kylie Broadnex. No matter what was going on he was always excited to see, hear from, and interact with his grands.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Naomi and William Stallings.
Charles was called home on the afternoon of July 4th, 2022, and leaves to cherish his memories, his surviving brothers Garnet and Santee, his sons Aaron, Angel, Kyle, and Elson, his beautiful granddaughters Kailynn, Reagan, Angelle, and Kylie, daughters-in-law/spirit Dannielle, Cindy, Dzifa, and Marcelina, as well as a host of nephews. Charles also leaves behind a spouse, Wanda Stallings of Delaware.
