Charles Edward Stevens, 77, of Shady Spring, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 in a Beckley hospital.
Born March 6, 1947 at Logan, he was the son of the late Junior and Frankie (Layton) Stevens.
Charles was retired from the U.S. Navy with 27 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Stevens; two brothers, Malcom and Glenn Stevens; and great nephew, James Gautier.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Charles Stevens, II; his sister, Joyce Allen and her husband, Ed; two brothers, Robert Stevens and David Stevens and his wife, Charity; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service and burial will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley with Rev. Lewis Arnold officiating.
For those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
For those wishing to express donations of sympathy, the family requests contributions be made to help defray unexpected expenses to Tyree Funeral Home, 999 Jones Avenue, Oak Hill, WV 25901.
