Charles Stoyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Northside Chapel Funeral Directors and Crematory on Jan. 26, 2025.
Charles "Chuck" Stoyer passed away on January 24, 2025, after a long and happy life. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and faithful servant and will be greatly missed.
Chuck was steadfast in his devotion. He was devoted to his wife Erika, his family, his career with CBI, and his church. Chuck met Erika while on assignment in Argentina. Chuck and Erika enjoyed the early years of their marriage on exciting assignments in Rio de Janeiro, Europe, and the Virgin Islands. They later settled into a pleasant family life in Newark, DE until they were empty nesters and started their travel adventures again, living in Birmingham, San Francisco, Washington State, and ultimately their favorite retirement spot, San Destin, FL.
Chuck was a sweet and devoted family man. Known as "Papae" to four generations of family and friends. Papae carefully listened to everyone around him. When Papae spoke, he offered calm and thoughtful points of view and funny stories.
Chuck was a faithful Christian, devoted to the church. Chuck never missed a Sunday service or potluck meal. He served as deacon and elder in the Presbyterian Church, and hosted Bible studies at his home. He was a faithful friend to his church community.
Charles was born in Greenville, PA on September 4, 1932. In 1955, Chuck graduated from RPI with a BS in Civil Engineering. He served in the US Army after graduation and then joined CBI Services, where he enjoyed a 40-year career supervising large complex construction projects, capping his career with the NASA wind tunnel at Moffett Field.
Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Stoyer; father, Clifford Stoyer; brother, Duane Stoyer; and sister, Wilma Christman. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Erika Stoyer; brother, Robert "Bob" Stoyer; daughter, Karen Trum (Lee); daughter, Cindy Bennett (Mark); and daughter, Simone Ulrich (Kyle). In addition to many nieces and nephews, he was loved by his grandchildren: Erik Trum (Amy), Kailee Olson (Andrew), Rachel Holt (Elijah), Stephanie Rosborough (Danny), Olivia Ulrich, and Cooper Ulrich (Olivia). Charles had seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on January 30th at 9:30 a.m. at Northside Chapel in Roswell, GA.
