Charles Rickey Strider, 68, of Biscoe, passed away at his home on Monday, March 2, 2026. He was the son of the late Charles Adam Strider and Shellie Frances Taylor Owens.

Rickey was known for his kindness, humor, and deep love for his family and friends. He was admired for his creativeness and ability to make anything with his hands. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time outside - fishing, hunting, riding horses, gardening, boating on the lake, and searching for arrowheads. Rickey was known to turn up the volume when a good song played on the radio and remembered the storyline from every movie he watched. The true joy of his life was being a father and grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory, Rickey leaves behind his daughter Brooke Strider Hunter (Jace), grandchildren Luke and Lacey Hunter, sister Kaye Buie (Ben) and many other extended family members. His cat, Knuckles, also added much joy to his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Carl Owens and stepmother, Claudia Mae Strider.

Rickey will be remembered as a man who enjoyed laughing, telling stories, spending time with family and friends, and helping anyone in need. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
