Charles Walter Tant

Mr. Charles Walter Tant, age 91, of Silver Creek, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Tant was born in Polk County, Georgia on April 3, 1934, son of the late Alex Hamilton Tant and the late Ollie Velma Ervin Tant. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Virginia Cowan Tant, by two daughters, Cathy Mull and Brenda Tant, by a brother, Ellis Tant, and by three sisters, Betty Nicholson, Lucille Ellison, and Ollie Moon. Prior to retirement, Mr. Tant was a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a member of Doyle Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Charles Michael Tant; three grandchildren, Jenny Barnette (Jamie), Clay Mull, and Meghan Mull; great grandchildren, Taylor Barnette, Langston Barnette, Jaxon Barnette, and Tyler Blanco; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 5 until 7pm.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday at 1:30pm and include Jamie Barnette, Clay Mull, Langston Barnette, Clyde Barnette, Josh Casey, Danny Massey, and Randy Ridley.
