Charles Thomas

A celebration of life for Charles Edward Thomas, 79, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Spencer Baptist Church under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville, LA. Bro. Mickey Manning will be officiating with Bro. Ricky Baker assisting. A visitation for friends and family will be held before the service, starting at noon. Interment will follow at Liberty Linville Cemetery.
Charles was born in Sterlington, LA and passed away at his home in Sterlington, LA surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and family devotion. He could be found in his free time picking on his guitar at family and friends' houses, and sometimes even at Spencer Baptist Church, where he was the unofficial music leader. Charles loved hunting, fishing, and telling jokes. He cherished his time with his family, and he could always be found at one of their events, even coaching Chuck's baseball team at one point.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver "Buddy" and Winford Glass Thomas, and three brothers, Billy Ray Thomas, Jack Thomas, and Michael Thomas. Charles is survived by loving wife of 60 years, Joyce King Thomas; daughters Christy Lamb (Mike), Cathy McIntyre (Roger); son, Chuck Thomas (Mitzi); grandchildren, Hillary Dupree (Obrian), Holly Bethea (Damien), Catherine Holman (Hunter) Tanner Todd Thomas,; great-grandchildren, Chance Dupree, Camryn Dupree, Chesney Bethea, Olivia Bethea, Millie Holman; "bonus" grandchildren, Emersyn and Jett Luke Hodge; sister-in-law, Amy Thomas, and many dear friends and family, all of whom he loved dearly. Pallbearers will be Chance Dupree, O'Brian Dupree, Matt Fife, Bobby Morris, Ken Thomas, and Tanner Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Damien Bethea, Jeff Kelly, George Linedecker, and the men of Spencer Baptist Church.
Charles's absence leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him, but his legacy of love and laughter will live on.
