Charles Richard Vantrease

Charles Richard Vantrease, 84, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at Quality Health Center. Born in Shelby Co. He was the son of the late Adrian Vantrease and Lilburn Pyle Vantrease.
He is survived by his wife, Dean Bogle Vantrease of Auburntown; son, Aaron Vantrease (Heather) of Auburntown; grandchildren, Jordan Vantrease, Tessa Vantrease, Chase Bogle, & Cameron Bogle; and Cousins; Lois Moody and Brenda (Bill) Emmert.
He is preceded in death by his stepson, Richard Bogle; and stepdaughter, Demetrius Bogle.
Mr. Vantrease was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War. He retired from the VA after 38 years as a fireman and a police officer. Mr. Vantrease also was a Sheriff deputy in Cannon Co. He was a 32-Degree Mason with Mt. Moriah Lodge #81 in Murfreesboro and Scottish Rites. He was also a member of the Auburn Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Visitation with his family will be Monday, June 13, 2022 from 4 pm until 8 pm. Interment will follow at Prosperity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fisher House for wounded veterans.
