Charles Bruno Verhoff, 71, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025. Born on July 8, 1953, he was the beloved son of the late Roman and Leona (Schaffer) Verhoff.
A 1971 graduate of St. Elizabeth High School, Charles dedicated many years of service as a Data Analyst for the State of Missouri.
He was known for his sharp mind and love of problem-solving, which he brought not only to his work but also to his many personal interests. He enjoyed golfing, working Sudoku and crossword puzzles, reading, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and tinkering with projects both large and small. Charles also had a passion for adventure-roller coasters, boating, and jet skis were among his favorite pastimes.
Charles found great joy in cooking and celebrating life with friends and family. He will be remembered for his big heart, easy smile, and the way he brought people together. Most of all Charlie enjoyed his time with family especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; his son; Matthew Mauzy (Candita); daughters, Laura Pruett (Ernie), Amanda True, Chandra Frazier (Butch Cook), and Kim Wilkins (Bob); brothers; Bill, Andy (Penny), Mike (Debbie), and Tony (Carol); 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Chaplain Mike Farmer. All services will be held at Houser-Millard Funeral Director's, with burial to follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Missouri River Region Library, a place Charles cherished.
Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St.; Jefferson City, MO 65109. (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.millardfamilychapels.com

I remember working on various projects during 1980s and 1990s with Charlie. Charlie was a unique individual who would gather as much information about an issue. Analyze the problem and always arrive with a solution in a timely manner. It was a pleasure to know Charlie and Brenda outside of work. Both have such a zest for life, a great sense of humor and were great life examples for their children, friends and others. Our sincere condolences to Brenda, the children and family. Rest in peace Charlie.
