Charles Robert Walton, 78, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on August 29, 2025, at 7pm. Born in Dayton, Kentucky, on January 25, 1947, Charlie was a devoted husband, father, and GrandDaddy who loved Jesus and lived a life of faith, service, and leadership.

Charlie spent 42 years in education. He became principal of Florence Elementary in 1998, serving until his retirement in 2013. He invested his life in many young people's lives through coaching and sponsoring teams throughout the years.

A respected public servant, Charlie represented the 66th District in the Kentucky General Assembly from 1993 to 2005 and later served as a Boone County Commissioner from 2011 to 2018. Known as Boone County's Conservative Voice, he was a strong advocate for education and his community.

Above all, he loved Jesus and lived to serve others with humility and conviction. In everything that he did, he wanted others around him to know and experience the love of Christ. Charlie was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and active in many civic, political, and faith-based organizations.

He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; children, Le (Bob) and Josh (Kristen); and seven cherished grandchildren: Walton, Neva (Nick), Graham, Evie, Wesley, Ethan, and Grant. He is also survived by his brother Paul (Shelia), nieces, nephew, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Katherine Walton, and sister, Ruth Walton Becker.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Grace Fellowship Church, 9379 Gunpowder Road, Florence, Kentucky, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Access the live stream video at Noon at the following link: https://youtube.com/watch?v=Q4kaWYngDC 8

A private burial will take place at The Lexington Cemetery, 833 West Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northern Kentucky Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 129 Johns Hill Road, Highland Heights, Kentucky 41076 or New Hope Center, 228 Thomas More Parkway, Crestview Hills, Kentucky 41017.
