Charles Edward "Charlie" Watson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away on February 14, 2025, in The Villages, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 5, 1956, in Huntington, West Virginia, Charles moved to Fruitland Park, Florida at the age of five.
Charlie started his career in the heat/air industry with his father and older brother and worked for local heat/air businesses. Then he joined Sumter Electric Co Op in 1986 for 17 years before retiring.
He loved the outdoors. He looked forward to the annual hunting trips to Georgia with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, local lakes for Bass or out of Crystal River, for whatever the catch of the day was. His also had a love for old cars. He would buy, restore, and then sell them and loved to attend the Turkey Rod Run each year. He was a True Florida Gator fan, he took his daughter Morgan, to the games each year when she was growing up and made lots of memories.
Charlie loved the time he spent as "poppy" to his grandsons Liam and Jaxon.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Polly Watson; his devoted daughter, Morgan Watson, two grandsons, Liam and Jaxon. His daughter Sandi Watson, two granddaughters, Alyssa and Aubrey, and two great granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Watson, Jr. Mom, Dad and 3 siblings.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held at Trinity Assembly of God Saturday March 1st at 11:00 am. With visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be at the Lone Oak Cemetery with a reception to follow back at the church. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Trinity Assembly of God.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory of Leesburg, Florida.
