Charles E. Wilgus, 88, of Tell City, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

He was born in Tell City, on July 31, 1937, son of the late Chester and Agnes (Hagedorn) Wilgus.

Charlie was a 1955 graduate of Tell City High School and attended classes at the University of Indianapolis. He was united in marriage to Sue (Kanouse) Wilgus on January 22, 1972. During his working career he was the District Manager for Prudential Insurance in Wisconsin. Charlie enjoyed his family, staying busy, and playing games on his computer.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Sue Wilgus; children, Bryan Thomas of Los Angeles, CA, Darin Thomas of Indianapolis, Hope Kunard (Doug) of Sellersburg, Faith Hatton of Deputy, IN, Kim Shadday (Dennis) of Shelbyville, IN, Chris Wilgus of Indianapolis, Sara Hill (Roger) of Indianapolis; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brothers, Merle, Harold, John, and Paul Wilgus, and a sister, Mabel Craig.

Services will be private.
