Charles E. Wilkins Jr.

WILKINS, Charles E., Jr. M.D., passed away after a short illness. He was 85. He is the beloved husband of Cheryl A. Wilkins (nee Griffith). Loving father of BethAnn Juel (Paul), Jennifer LaRosa (Christopher), Kurt Schneider (Alexis), Zach Wilkins (Angela) and Mark Wilkins (Amber). Dearly loved Pop of Jenna Travis (Brandon), Luke LaRosa, Grace Barnak, Ryan LaRosa, James LaRosa, Noah LaRosa, Kurt Schneider, Jr., Charlee Schneider, Miles Wilkins and Maisy Wilkins and a great grandson, Beau. Dear brother of Pamela Smith and Lynne Hoffman (Joseph). He will be missed by his beloved dog, Bo. Raised in Gloucester City, NJ, Dr. Wilkins graduated from Gloucester City High School, Rutgers College of South Jersey and Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia. He served in the US military following his medical school graduation completing tours in Vietnam and Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. After completing an orthopedic surgery residency at Jefferson University Hospital, he practiced orthopedics in the South Jersey area til his retirement in 2015.
Dr. Wilkins was an active member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. His major hobby was fishing, an activity that took him to many locations - both domestic and foreign.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday November 28 from 10-11:30am at the Bradley Funeral Home 601 Rt. 73 South at Evesham Road, Marlton where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:30am Friday. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles' memory to the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 8-1 101 Northpoint Road Ocean City NJ 08226
