He will await the resurrection at Heavenly Rest Cemetery (Hubertville Road) Jeanerette, LA.
Visitation hours will be observed at First Jerusalem Baptist Church on Saturday, September 23, 2023, beginning at 8:00 AM until the time of the service.
"Charlie Brown" as he was affectionately known, was a native of Jeanerette, LA. He passed at 1:15 A.M. on Monday, September 11, 2023, at his residence.
He was a 1969 graduate of F.M. Boley High School in Jeanerette. He was employed at Avondale Shipyard for many years. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Jeanerette, LA, where he was a Trustee and a former member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver, Eucharistic Minister and a Minister of Hospitality. He was a dedicated servant of his community for over 26 years as a Ward #2 Alderman; Jeanerette City Council Member and Parish Council Member. He was a lifetime member of the Magnificent Men Organization.
He leaves to cherish his memory, five sons: Charles Williams, Jr. (Iris) of Dallas, TX, Chgward Williams (Samantha) of Palestine, TX, Rogers T. Williams (Dasha) of Midlothian, TX, Traville Frederick, Sr. (Treynell) of Jeanerette, LA and DaQuandrey Bouie of Houston, TX; three daughters: Thaiddiaus Asberry (Wayne) of Palestine, TX, Thaisha "Diamond" Williams of Jeanerette, LA and Thaimonti Kerry Anne Williams of Waxahachie, TX; two brothers: Rogies Williams (Judy) of Atlanta, GA and Michael Williams of Jeanerette, LA; four sisters: Ethel Lee Crosby and Marion Sorrell of Jeanerette, LA and Viola Gilliam (Chester) and Jennifer Burns (Donald) of New Iberia, LA; thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Linda Marie Baker Williams; parents: Roger Williams, Sr. and Nancy Antoine Williams; one son: Thaddeus Williams; three sisters, Elva Corsey, Kathy Williams, and May Fay Williams; and two brothers: John Paul Williams, Sr., and Eddie Williams, Sr.
