Mr. Charles Douglas "Doug" Wilson, Sr., age 75, of Conyers passed away November 20, 2022. He was born September 18, 1947 in Lithonia to Charlie Britt and Carrie Goss Wilson who have preceded him in death. Mr. Wilson grew up in Conyers and graduated from Rockdale High School. He served in the United States Army and retired from AT&T. Mr. Wilson enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Mrs. Birgit "Brigit" Wilson, his sisters Mary Alice Criswell, and Wanda Nichols.
Mr. Wilson is survived by children, Doug Wilson, Jr. (Jennifer), Christopher Wilson (Lindsay), Sabine Chappell, Ronnie Wilson, Cindy Hyde (Keith); grandchildren, Mark, Jake H., Carrie, Brandon, Riley, Lauren, Ryder, Jake D, Hannah, Madison, Jayden, Dylan; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Mark Lee, Christian; his brothers and sisters; Maggie Bradford (Herman), Thomas Wilson (Rachel), Kathy Standridge, Britt Wilson, Patsy Lodge, and Annie Wilson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Casey Bradford officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday prior to the service. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home-TE Davis Funeral Services has been entrusted with these arrangements.
