Charles Youmans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors - Hodgson Chapel on Oct. 10, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Charles Tyson Youmans, 44, died on October 8, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife, family and dear friends. Charlie passed as he lived - with the utmost internal fortitude, dignity and grace.

Charlie was born on August 18, 1981 to Reemer Ebb Youmans, Jr. and Claire Klug Youmans in Savannah, Georgia. He attended St. James Catholic School ('96) and Benedictine Military School ('00). Following his graduation from Benedictine, Charlie attended the University of Alabama and joined Kapp Alpha Order, where his real adventures began. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in business management, Charlie began his career at SSA Marine.

To know Charlie was to love him. Charlie was as talkative as he was quiet. While many would accurately describe Charlie as a man of few words, others knew the Charlie that would talk for hours on end about trail cameras, camo patterns, dogs, deer stands, duck calls, tires, coolers, bows, arrows, hats and Alabama football. Charlie was the kind of person everyone enjoyed being around. He was a great guy with a huge heart, a steady sense of humor and a positive attitude that never wavered. Loyal and genuine, Charlie was the friend you could count on for anything, any time. His happiest moments were found outdoors chasing whatever was in season and soaking up the simple pleasures that came with it. A true gear nut, Charlie always knew about the latest release or next big trend before anyone else and he loved sharing that excitement with others. His enthusiasm was contagious; his presence uplifting; and, his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Claire Klug Youmans; an infant older brother; his paternal grandparents, Reemer Ebb and Mary Gill Youmans; his maternal grandparents, C. Frederick and Ida Tyson Klug; and his uncle and namesake, Charles Tyson.

Charlie is survived by his ever courageous and wholly devoted wife Ali Bunn Youmans; soon to be here, baby girl Youmans; his father, Reemer Ebb Youmans Jr.; close family friend, Ann Bond; his brother, Reemer Ebb Youmans III (Connell); his in-laws,Gregg and Kim Bunn; sister-in-law, Amy Bunn Haynes (Robert); sister-in- law, Emily Anne Bunn Ansley (Jordan); eight nieces and nephews, countless friends who are the equivalent of family, and last but not least, his best friend Dotty.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Win Harbin, Henry Johnston, Brad Murphy, Lee Shaffer, Chris Smith, and Drew Stevenson.

The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to Dr. Grant Lewis, Lexi Roberts, PA, and the team at Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion, the team at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Hospice of Savannah.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to a 529 account in honor of baby girl Youmans organized by friends of the family (www.Ugift529.com gift code: 354-L6L).
