Charles L. Zerger

Charles L. Zerger, age 84, of Plain Township passed away Monday February 10, 2025. He was born August 9, 1940 in Martins Ferry, OH to his parents, the late, Charles S. and Herminia Zerger. He graduated from Steubenville College and taught as an educator for nearly 42 years at several schools before retirement including Perry Local Schools for over 30 years.
Chuck had a passion for puppetry and enjoyed visiting nursing homes and anyone who needed extra company and entertainment. When he was offered payment, he immediately donated back to several mission programs that supported children's education and their pathway to God.
Chuck prioritized his life to God, his family, his missions, his puppetry and then still fit in watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patricia Zerger; son, Jason (Beth) Zerger; twin daughters, Jennifer (Steven) Mutchler and JoAnn (David) Antram; six grandchildren, Maggie Mutchler, Rylee Mutchler, Cole Antram, Reese Zerger, Reagan Zerger, and Ryan Zerger.
The Funeral Service will be held Friday February 14, 2025 at 1pm at Greenwood Christian Church (4425 Frazer Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44709). Calling hours will be Thursday from 5pm to 7pm at the church and one hour prior to the service on Friday from 12pm to 1pm at the church. Burial will be at Warstler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the mission committee at Greenwood Christian Church.
