Charlie Michael Whiting

Charles Michael Whiting, age 34 of Grayson, GA, died Wednesday, April 23, 2025. He is survived by his parents, John and Jessie Whiting, sister, Kate Whiting, fiancée, Jessica Sheppard and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Charlie was born in Conyers, Georgia and graduated from Heritage High School Class of 2009. He was a proud Auburn University graduate from the McWhorter School of Building Science Class of 2013. After college Charlie first worked for Potts Construction Company in Conyers and then Reeves Young where he was Director of Preconstruction for their Commercial Business Unit.
Charlie loved life, travel, family, friends, Auburn and, most of all, his beautiful fiancée, Jessica. To know him was to love him. His favorite teacher from high school wrote of Charlie, "Short in stature, with red hair, a neatly trimmed red beard and glasses, and that ready smile, he was a great looking guy - and quite the dapper dresser."
Charlie's Auburn experience created a passion for the school, enduring friendships, memorable tailgates, a connection as an alum and more than his fair share of ups and downs as a fan. He never wavered in his loyalty to his alma mater and will forever be a "Tiger".
A motivational quote from Charlie reads, "Relationships are the foundation of what we do. They define our success and provide a firm footing to build from." This not only applied to his work in changing the skylines of major cities but affirms how he mastered building personal relationships that were strong, beautiful, lasting and genuine.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. War Eagle Charlie!
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. There will be a Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM on Friday following the funeral at Building One Event Hall & Rooftop, 2115 Loganville Hwy., Grayson, GA. Come dressed in your Auburn best for food, drinks, music and lots of storytelling.
