Charlotte Louise Dayhoff, 91, of Mercersburg, gained her wings and went to heaven on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. Born May 29, 1934 in Paw Paw West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Roy James and Minnie Estella Santymire Leach.

Charlotte retired from London Fog. She couldn't give up the love of sewing and later was employed by Deva Clothing Company. She also helped manage the Clear Spring Legion. Countless hours were spent in her kitchen baking and cooking for family and friends. She wouldn't of had it any other way. In addition to baking and cooking; traveling, shopping, golf and bowling were hobbies as well. Charlotte participated in health studies at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and made numerous donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Charlotte is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Apple(significant other Gardner Marshall) Tina Cline, 6 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Last and certainly not least, her lifelong dear friend, Linda Bain.

She will be sorely missed, but her loved ones find peace in the knowledge that she is finally home, being welcomed by all those who went before her- husband Edward L. Dayhoff, son Duane Apple, son-in-law Michael Cline(Tina Cline), and her siblings Junior, Russell, Eldridge, Lorraine, Midge, and Rita.

A celebration of Charlotte's beautiful life event will be held at a later date.
