Charlotte Faye Hughes Harney, a woman whose life was marked by dedication to her family, faith, and community, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, in
Paris, Kentucky. Born on December 13, 1935, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, Charlotte lived an exemplary life filled with love and service.
Survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Jerome Art Harney, Charlotte's legacy of love continues through their four devoted children, Angela (Johnny) Plummer, Sid Stuart Harney, Pat (Julie) Harney, and Tracie Marie Angel. The joys of her life were her ten grandchildren, John (Lynda) Plummer II, Ashley Dee (Jacob) Fowler, Mary Alison (Allen) Fryman, Austin (Liz) Harney, Carley (Dustin) Morgan, Bryce (Krista) Harney, Braeden (Abigail) Harney, Samuel Harney, Travis Art (Michelle) Angel, and Adria Marie (Derek) Dotson, along with her eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Charlotte's love also extended to her brother Harry Gene Collins, her special niece Rita Bugg, and the numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who knew her as a second mother and a steadfast friend.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Hughes and Lucille Collins Hughes; her precious son, Dallas Reno Harney; her great-granddaughter, Rylie Faye Fryman; her sister, Wanda Raye Linville, and her son-in-law, John Wesley Angel.
A graduate of Bourbon County High School, Charlotte was well known in her community as a retired clerk for Ken's Super Value and Food Lion, and as a representative of Avon for 62 years. Her unwavering commitment to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Paris Ward was evident in everything she did. She aided missionaries, opened her home to her church family whenever needed, fed the hungry, and hosted church services in her residence. Her warmth and generosity touched countless lives.
Charlotte found great pleasure in simple joys: loving her family, cooking, relishing in the narratives of old westerns, and reading her Bible daily. Known for being generous, faith-filled, and thoughtful, she was a pillar of strength and guidance to all who knew her.
Charlotte's life was a testament to her enduring faith and the boundless capacity of her heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will continue to resonate in the lives of all she touched. Her passing is not only a loss to her family but also to the many she embraced as an integral part of her extended family and faith community. Charlotte Faye Hughes Harney will be profoundly missed, her memory cherished, and her life celebrated as an embodiment of selfless love and unwavering faith.
