Steven Earl "Steve" Kelly, aged 58, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on May 3, 1967, in Columbus, Ohio, Steve was a spirited soul who lived his life with kindness and an open heart. Throughout his life, Steve's actions embodied the Christian values he held dear, as a caring father, dedicated brother, and a friend to many.
Steve graduated from Elliott County High School before embarking on a fulfilling career at CMWA in
Paris, Kentucky. His dedication and work ethic were unparalleled, and he was not only a colleague but a true friend to his peers. Steve was a member of the New Life Ministries in Paris, sharing his faith and commitment to community service.
Above all, Steve treasured family moments, especially those spent with his children, Ryan, who married Ashley, and Alyssa Dunn. He was a loving and doting grandfather to Nova Leigh, Shila Ann, and River Pearl Kelly, cherishing every opportunity to play with them and impart life's simple joys. Steve's wisdom and laughter will be the legacy he leaves in the hearts of his grandchildren.
Steve's love and laughter also extended to his four brothers: Michael D. Kelly, Larry and his wife Brenda, Richard and his wife Geneva, and Robert and his wife Kristina. The bond of brotherhood was strong and filled with countless fond memories. His nieces, nephews, cousins, and particularly his special cousin and best friend, Mitchel, alongside his wife Vicki Fraley, are left to cherish countless warm and humorous stories that could only be credited to Steve's unique and friendly nature.
Steve reunites with those who predeceased him: his beloved wife, Debra Ann Roe Kelly, his parents, Windell Dewayne Kelly and Phyllis Ann Kellin Kelly, as well as his sister, Patricia Kelly. While the absence is deeply felt, the family takes comfort in knowing Steve is now at peace with his departed loved ones.
His passion for working on cars was more than a hobby; it was a canvas on which Steve painted the story of his life, with each engine he repaired symbolizing the care he put into nurturing bonds with family and friends. Steve's presence was a source of happiness and assurance to those around him. As a man of faith and action, Steve displayed a kind and friendly demeanor that will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
As we say farewell to Steven Earl "Steve" Kelly, we are reminded of the beautiful tapestry of love and service he wove through his time on earth. May he rest in eternal peace and continue to watch over us with the same devotion and love he showed each day.
