Charlotte Berry Fields, 81, of Mount Union, PA passed away on Monday, November 4 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She was the devoted wife of Charles Fields and loving mother to Joe Fields.
Charlotte was born in Shippensburg, PA to Helen Berry. She attended Shippensburg Area High School and Kutztown State College. She was a beloved art teacher in the Mount Union area school district for thirty-six years. She was a faithful member of Saint Luke Lutheran Church where she loved to sing in the choir and an active member of Friends of the Mount Union Library.
She was a wonderful wife and mother who was always there for those she loved, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She was well known for her humor, always ready with a sarcastic comment or comeback. Her loyalty and selflessness knew no bounds and everyone in her life benefited from her loving care. Charlotte was a cherished member of the community in Mount Union, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. Charlotte enjoyed reading, singing with friends and traveling in her spare time.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Fields of Mount Union, one son Joe (Stacey) Fields and family of Gaffney, SC, stepdaughter Jessica (Ben) Laumann and granddaughter Hailey of York, PA, stepdaughter Samantha Beeler and grandson Andre of McConnellsburg, PA, one brother Gary (Sherry) Wilbert of Harrisburg, PA, one sister-in-law Paula Lechner and family of Fryburg, PA and extended loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Berry, and one brother, Bob Harvey.
Family and friends will be received for a visitation on Thursday, November 7 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Heath-Anderson Funeral Home, 61 East Shirley Street, Mount Union, PA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8 at 11:00AM at Saint Luke Lutheran Church, 100 South Jefferson Street, Mount Union, PA. Burial will follow in Mount Union Cemetery.
