After a brave, six year battle with cancer, Charlotte Ann Campbell Fields, 82, of Columbus, MS went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Charlotte was born in Grenada, MS on August 24, 1941 to the late Chester Gentry Campbell and Mary Ann Campbell. She moved in early childhood with her parents to Columbus, where she would later marry Freddie Lynn Fields and have two children. Charlotte ran The Country Store on Highway 45 South for thirty years, and from there she went on to work another fifteen years at Lowe's Home Improvement Store before retiring. Charlotte delighted in collecting antiques, and she passed along her passion for treasure hunting to her children. She loved her two cats, Lucy and KiKi, and would often be heard in the neighborhood calling for them. Her favorite meal was a Burger King cheeseburger, and she was unfailingly adamant that her fries be HOT. Every Sunday, she watched the broadcast of Vibrant Church service. More than anything, Charlotte cherished visits from her six grandchildren. Charlotte is survived by her two children, Stephanie Fields and Dr. John Fields, both of Columbus. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Taylor Fields, John Henry Fields, Mary Virginia (GiGi) Fields, Presley Fields, Denver Fields, and Monroe Fields. Friends are invited to a celebration of life on Thursday, April 18th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 518 College Street.
