Charlotte Davis Friedman

Charlotte Davis-Friedman, 80, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023. She was born in Alton, IL on May 4, 1943, to Don and Anita Grube. Charlotte was a graduate of Maumee High School and earned both her bachelor's and master's degree from Bowling Green State University. When Charlotte rejoined the workforce after raising her children, she started by driving the bookmobile for the Toledo-Lucas County Library; a job which she valued greatly. She then went on to have a long career with the Maumee City School district in various roles before retiring in 2004. In retirement she enjoyed traveling, smocking and being a grandma.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Stephen (Elizabeth) Davis, Juliana (Reed)Swanson; grandchildren, Will Swanson, Grace Swanson, Joy Swanson; sister, Janet Beckwith; stepchildren, Jeffrey Friedman, Dena Rives, Michael Friedman, Melissa Rakolta, Rachel Schroeder; and many extended family members and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Philip Davis and Thomas Friedman; and parents.
Friends will be received on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 6-8 P.M. at First Presbyterian Maumee, 200 E. Broadway Street, Maumee, OH. A Memorial Service will take place at the church on Friday, November 3, 2023 beginning at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, Maumee.
