Charlotte S. Gragg, age 79, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Highland District Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 24, 1945, at her home in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Govie and Grace (Allen) Montgomery.
Charlotte was a faithful member of the Pricetown Church of Christ and a woman whose life revolved around her faith, her family, and her community. She loved nothing more than being a mother and grandmother. She never missed a ball game or any of her grandchildren's sporting events, cheering them on with pride and joy.
Affectionately known as the community babysitter, Charlotte's home was always filled with the laughter of children. She cherished babysitting and cared for countless little ones over the years, treating each child as if they were her own. Her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit touched many lives.
Charlotte also enjoyed tending to her garden, finding peace and happiness in watching things grow. Her love for simple pleasures, along with her warm smile and generous heart, will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the many children whose lives she brightened.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Jeff (Emily) Gragg of Wilmington, James Gragg of Hillsboro, Jody (Angie) Gragg of Leesburg, Julie (Paul) Remsen of Hillsboro, and Jason (Tara) Gragg of Lynchburg; twelve grandchildren, Garrett Hughes, Shaina (Troy) McCarty, Shain Gragg, Breeanna (Stevie Campbell) Gragg, TJ (Kassandra Harris) Blanton, Nate (Ashley Barnes) Blanton, Caleb (Riley) Redmon, Cody Gragg, Megan Gragg, Hunter (Timmy Crampton) Gragg, Ian (Hailee) Gragg, and Emma (Paul) Conrady; twelve great grandchildren, Sophia, Stevie, Mason, Grayson, Kasyn, Brantley, Alexis, Clayton, Karter, Easton, Hadlee, Tatum, and two on the way; two siblings, Herb (Clara) Montgomery of Pricetown, Donna Collins of Lynchburg, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Gragg on January 8, 2021, and a brother-in-law, John Collins.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday August 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Barker Cemetery in Pricetown. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
