Alicia Connie Gragg

Alicia C. Gragg, age 73, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025. Born on November 14, 1951, in Racine, Wisconsin, Alicia was the beloved daughter of the late Concepcion "Connie" Riojas and Antonio Riojas.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Alicia lived a life rooted in compassion, faith, and service. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, George F. Gragg; her cherished daughter, Christa L. Farmer; and her adored grandson, Jonathan Farmer. Alicia also leaves behind her siblings: Donna Gaye, Gloria Jean Ferens, Faith Riojas, Michael Riojas, Jacoby Riojas, and Jason Riojas; as well as her dear aunts, Tina and Peewee.
Alicia had a heart for children and dedicated much of her life to their growth and care. As a longtime substitute teacher with Virginia Beach Public Schools, she touched countless young lives with patience, wisdom, and kindness. Her love for teaching extended beyond the classroom-she faithfully taught Sunday School at Christ Gospel Church, where she was a devoted member and active participant in the church community.
Always willing to lend a hand, Alicia was known for her generosity and her unwavering willingness to help friends, neighbors, and even strangers. Her gentle spirit and quiet strength made a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Alicia also gave her time and energy to her community as a dedicated volunteer with the River Forest Shores, Wayside Manor, and Easton Place Civic League. She served as Corresponding Secretary and managed the neighborhood newsletter program, keeping her neighbors informed and connected.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Riojas and Concepcion Riojas. Though her absence leaves a profound void, Alicia's legacy of love, faith, and service lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Alicia's life will be held on June 21, 2025 at Christ Gospel Church beginning at 10:30am. An inurnment will take place June 24, 2025 at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Christ Gospel Church Virginia Beach Youth Fund, in support of summer activities for the children Alicia so dearly loved.
