Mikell Wright

Mikell Wright, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on August 14, 1951, Mikell spent his entire life in Norfolk, embracing the community around him with quiet dignity and self-sufficiency.
Mikell grew up attending church on Goff Street, which later became Mason Memorial Church of God in Christ. The values and fellowship he found there shaped his life, grounding him in faith and community.
He had a passion for swimming and was an avid sports enthusiast who loved watching games on television. Despite his love for family gatherings, Mikell also cherished his solitude, balancing time spent with loved ones with moments of peaceful reflection.
Mikell was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edith and Roosevelt Wright, as well as two sisters. He leaves behind his brother, Jimme Wright, and a cherished niece, alongside many friends who will remember him fondly.
