Charlotte Taylor Kearns, 75, passed peacefully on August 28, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum with Pastor Ryan Crowder officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Mausoleum, beginning at 12:00noon. A private burial will follow the service.
She was born and raised in Greensboro, later moving to Reidsville. She grew up racing cars and boasted many trophies. As a loving and hard-working mother and grandmother, she spent her career working multiple jobs to care for her children. Her favorite working activities were driving school buses and coaching softball. She taught her children, by example, to work hard and be generous. Her best title was "Nanny", as she enjoyed her grandkids and encouraged them in all their ventures; unless they were competing against her in UNO or Yahtzee, then everyone was fair game. She had a fantastic sense of humor and often made people laugh. As a devoted Carolina fan, she never missed a basketball game, often 'coaching' (or rather, passionately yelling) from the couch. Every family member looked forward to the birthday call where she would personally be the first one to sing "Happy Birthday" to you, adding "any many more!!!" each time. Her smile and laughter will be missed. The sacrifices she made for her children will not be forgotten.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Rush & Rhoda Taylor and brother, Russ Taylor
She is survived by her children, Travis Kearns and London, Stephanie Pruitt and Jackie, James Kearns and Rachael; grandchildren, Patrick, Kayden, Elizabeth, Isabella, Logan, Taylor; great-grandchild, Gracelyn; siblings, Rhonda Holder and Ray; Judy Dyer.
