Charlotte Nigh Obituary

Our wonderful mom, Charlotte Jane Nigh had an amazing day on Saturday February 24, 2024, one that none of us will ever forget. She was doing what she loved doing, baking, giving, caring and going to a Women's gathering at her church. She then left to go and see her boys, who for the first time in a long time had spent the day working together. It was then that her day got even better, her reward was about to be realized and the realization of how good we had it left us longing for a few more days with her.
Our mom was born on July 19, 1943 and lived most of her life in a home she helped build on a hill on Akron Avenue in Bancroft. She married Joel Winkler on October 1, 1961, and then we came along, Joel, Todd, Priscilla and Dale. Beginning in 1986 her family begin to grow even larger with our wonderful lifelong spouses, Kathy, Robin, Ronnie and Debbie. She married Orin Nigh on March 5, 1983, whom she loved dearly, and he now misses her more than willever be put into words! Mom came from a wonderful family and her surviving siblings Aunt Edna, (Doug) Aunt Berdine, (Ed) and Uncle Dan will miss her terribly along with many other family members. But Saturday afternoon she had a heavenly reunion with the others, Jean, Dexter and Oliver along with her dear parents Orris and Ila Sparks.
Our mom was a woman that weathered several significant storms in her life but came through all of them with a genuine loving faith in Jesus that became more and more beautiful. It was the greatest treasure she could have ever left us. When we were young, each night she would stand in the doorway of our bedrooms and read to us a devotional and then pray for us. We went to sleep knowing the One who was and is Faithful and True to His Word!
She spent her life caring for and serving others in nursing homes, in her home and in her church. She was an incredibly hard worker, a trait that she instilled in each of us and now is being carried on in her amazing grandchildren. If there was an area that she was proud of it certainly would be summed up with her grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Chasity, Tyler, Nate, Derreck, Desarae, Rachel and Caleb and their spouses. We believe we were given a treasure with her life and our greatest grief is found in knowing that her great grandchildren Ahlana, Ember, Ava, Owen, Oliver, Ellie, Connor, Bryce, Gannon, Evelyn, Finn, Eli, Jack and Kate, with a few more to arrive before the end of this year, will miss out on this gift.
Her last written message to us is something that we will hold on to and cherish, "I love you; I will miss you and I will wait for you on the other side." Mom, "We will make that appointment, we promise!"
Please join us in honoring our wonderful mom on Saturday, March 2 nd at New Life Church in Plainfield Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 9am until the time of the funeral at 10:30.
We want to thank you for all the ways you have conveyed your thoughts and prayers, it has meant the world to us! We are wealthy beyond words to have such an amazing group of friends and family.
