Charlotte Anne Walter, 87, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. She lived a spirited life full of love and caregiving.
Charlotte was born on August 31, 1937 to Alexander and Henrietta (Michalak) Balough in South Bend, Indiana where she learned to carry on the family work ethic.
Charlotte graduated from Central High School in South Bend. She married and raised 3 children while working numerous jobs. Charlotte found the love of her life and married Ken Walter, welcoming his 5 children, Jackie, Marsha, Patty Jo (deceased), K.G. (deceased) and Celeste.
She continued her education by graduating from Ancilla College and attending Purdue University. Charlotte moved to Indianapolis to be closer to her family, eventually settling in Noblesville. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville where she served as past president of the Rosary Society, and was a dedicated volunteer for the parish funeral lunch. Charlotte's famous blankets were made on the church's tables. She was generous with her time and material donations to the people of Berea, Kentucky, and other local pantries.
Later in life, Charlotte took up caregiving and made many friends. She enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as retail therapy, especially QVC shopping. Most of all, she was a very giving person and loved taking care of others.
We would be remiss if we did not mention Charlotte's world travels as a member of the "3 Musketeers" with her friends, Brenda and Ellen, and numerous other travels with her grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Carol Catanzarite and David Horvath; grandchildren, Melissa Lockany, Travis (Claire) Faas, and Matthew (Whitney) Catanzarite; great-grandchild, Chloe Colf; sister, Patricia Badur; and step-daughter, Celeste (Tom) Shepard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Walter; and daughter, Cheryl A Faas.
A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 124 College Ave, Culver, IN 46511. The Rosary will be held at 9:30 am, followed by Mass at 10:00 am.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wheeler Mission Ministries, PO Box 3085, Indianapolis, IN 46204, (https://wheelermission.org).
