Chase Alexander Collins, 55, of Deport died Sunday, November 12, 2023 in Deport.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. A funeral will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Deport Methodist Church in Deport, Texas. Burial of ashes will follow at Highland Cemetery in Deport.
Chase was born on December 11, 1967 in Orange County, California to Walter and Rita Collins. Chase lived in Wyoming until he was 7 and then moved to Seminole, Texas with his mom and Step-dad, Bobby Robinson. Chase graduated from Seminole High School in 1986 and enlisted in the United States Army. He went through basic training and was then stationed in Berlin, Germany. He stayed in Germany until the wall came down and then he was stationed in California until he was discharged and moved to Paris. Chase married his "Little Bride" Jenny Lee Roach on November, 17, 2001. They moved to Deport, Texas in 2003. Chase fell in love with Deport and loved being part of a small town and the slower paced life. Chase was very active in the Emmaus Community and Celebrate Recovery. He loved to hunt and would go and just spend days in the woods and come home talking about the good sleep he got and never shot his gun. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Deport. Chase fought a severe lung condition for 15 years, but he never let it slow him down. He never let it stop him from providing for his family very well and making sure they never wanted for anything. Chase suffered from severe PTSD and was in treatment for it since 2007. He was very vocal about veterans getting treatment and he fought everyday to make his next day better than his last.
Chase is survived by his wife, Jenny of Deport; his son, Corey Alexander Collins of Pittsburgh, Texas, son, Austin Hart and wife MaKenzie Collins of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; daughter, Cayci Lee Collins of Deport, Texas; brother, Oscar Collins of Valdosta, Georgia; brother-in-law, Michael Roach of Sulphur Springs, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Lee and Corene Roach of Deport, Texas; step-sisters, Donna Jean Robinson, Kathy Cravey, Judy Robinson; step-brother, James Robinson; mother of his sons, Kimberly Burnett Ernest.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Zack Collins; and a brother-in law, Casey Johnathan Roach.
Honorary Pallbearers are Corey Collins, Austin Collins, Michael Roach, John English, Jr., David Darden, Tuffy Tally, Caanon Albert, the employees of Plant Process Fabrication in Sulphur Springs and the members of Emmaus Walk 11-1-11.
