Mr. Chase Michael Ellis

Chase Michael Ellis, 26, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Columbia, SC, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Born in Anderson, SC, on May 25, 1998, he was a son of Ronald D. and Theresa D. Robillard Ellis.
Chase attended Lake Carolina Elementary, Blythewood Middle School and Blythewood High School. Chase played highschool football as well as highschool and travel baseball. He spent countless hours training with specialized coaches. Alongside his family he traveled the country to compete in elite games. Upon highschool graduation in 2016, Chase attended Mount Olive University where he played Division 2 baseball.
Following college, Chase worked for South East Snack Company -Utz Quality Foods as an account representative. He then relocated to Chicago, IL to pursue a career in sales and later sales management. Chase was known as a top earner, led a sales team and won several sales awards. Chase lived in the heart of downtown Chicago; he thoroughly enjoyed the city lifestyle and lived every moment to the fullest.
In addition to his parents, Ronald and Theresa, survivors include his brother, Drew Ellis; sister, Claire Ellis; maternal grandfather, Thomas Robillard Col, USAF, Ret.; uncles, Michael Robillard (Heather), of Dayton, OH; Bradley Robillard (Angela), of Dayton, OH, Richard Ellis, Jr of Dayton, OH and Micky Entler of Bradenton, FL; aunt, Melissa Mates (Aaron), of Palm Harbor, FL; cousins, Emily Robillard Grbach (Zach), Michael Robillard, Jr., (Natalie), Lilly Robillard Crisman (Chase), Mia Robillard, Anna Kate Robillard, Maddox Mates, Ava Claire Mates, Olive Robillard, Edison Robillard, Marlee Robillard and Rory Robillard; and his beloved dog, Popcorn. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Susan Irene Robillard of Columbia, SC; and paternal grandparents, Richard Ellis and Lorraine Ellis of Willard, OH.
The funeral service for Chase will be held at 2:00, Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:30. Burial will follow the service in Centerville Cemetery, Ridgeway, SC.
