Mrs. Cheraté Tierra Evans, 43, of Halifax, VA entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.
Mrs. Evans was born in South Boston, VA on January 5, 1982 to Roderick Brooks and Carolyn Boyd. She was a graduate of Halifax County High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Wylliesburg, VA. Mrs. Evans was an assistant manager at Dollar General and a Desk Clerk at Fairfield by Marriott Inn in Halifax. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, crafting and writing.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Anthony Evans of Halifax, VA; two sons, Danté Mitchell of Raleigh, NC and Tylik Mitchell of Halifax, VA; two daughters, Destiny Mitchell of Graham, NC and Tionna Mitchell of Halifax, VA; father, Roderick Brooks (Eurandina) of Red Oak, VA; mother, Carolyn Boyd of Halifax, VA; two brothers, Rodney Brooks (Charlotte) of Durham, NC and Taleo Coles (Letoya) of Houston, TX; two sisters, Christie Purcell (Kevan) and Latoya Coles both of Raleigh, NC and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services for Cheraté Tierra Evans will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at First Baptist Church, Wylliesburg, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will begin on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the church.
Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
