LOUDONVILLE: Cherie Ann Baldner passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, in Sycamore Run Nursing Home in Millersburg at the age of 94.
She was born on September 27, 1929, to parents Jess & Frances (Bunting) Ross in Loudonville, Ohio. After Cherie graduated from Loudonville High School with the class of 1947, she worked for Attorney Harold P. Welsh for 3 years. In 1950, she moved to Cleveland and began working for Alcoa for 18 years doing clerical work.
After returning to Loudonville Cherie met a school friend, Lawrence Baldner, who was widowed. They married on April 29, 1978, and had 40 happy years together until his passing on May 6, 2018.
She is survived by her cousin Ginny (Tom) Darrah of Louisville, KY; her stepchildren Jane (Richard Taylor) Baldner, Joan Lozier, and David (Betty) Young, all of Loudonville; her stepdaughter-in-law Jill Young of Loudonville; five grandchildren: Zoie Lozier of Loudonville, Kenny (Susan) Young, III of Loudonville, and Matthew (Grace) Young of Ashland; seven great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Baldner; her stepson Kenneth Young, II; stepson-in-law Ron Lozier.
A graveside service will occur on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 3 p.m. in Loudonville Cemetery. Pastor Frank Taylor will officiate.
Contributions in Cherie's memory may be mailed to the First Baptist Church, 124 S. Market St. Loudonville, OH 44842.

I first met Cherie when she lived in Parma and I was about 10years old. I felt she was the most beautiful lady I ever met. We remained friends for the next 70 years. I always enjoyed her wit and have many fond memories of times we spent together. May she be at peace.... Janet McFarland
