Cherri Ann Pofahl was born on July 17, 1953, in Lodi, California to Laurence and Viola Chester. Her family later moved to Faribault and shortly thereafter to Northield where she was raised and where her values and character were shaped. On October 21, 1978, Cherri married Michael Pofahl and together they raised three children: Michael Jr., Suzanna Marsaw, and Austin Herrera (Ana). Cherri is also a proud grandmother to her five cherished grandchildren, whose lives she continued to enrich with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support.
Cherri has always found joy in creating with her hands-especially through crocheting. Her handmade gifts, lovingly crafted for family and friends, are treasured tokens of her generosity and care. Each stitch carries a piece of her heart, and her creations have become lasting symbols of connection and love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Viola Chester; two sisters and four brothers. She is also survived by siblings, Eldon (Betty) Chester, Laura (Richard) Lien, Marlys Chester, Sylvia (Henry) Raway, Fawn Paulson, and Kelsey Chester, her brother-in-law, Lowell (MaryAnn) Pofahl and her friend, Piper Srey who was by her side the last few weeks caring for her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Guild House of The Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour, Faribault on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 2-6 p.m.
