Sherri Dawn Pofahl of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 69. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 24, 1956, to Edgar William Ronsley and Velma Beatrice (Goodpasture) Ronsley.
Sherri met and married her husband, John Pofahl, in Phoenix. She moved to the Shawnee area in 2008. Her life revolved around her home as a wife, mother and grandmother. Her favorite memories were the birth of her grandchildren and the enjoyment they brought to her.
As an avid animal lover, Sherri’s pets were part of her family, and she grieved the death of each one of them. She also loved to paint pictures. Her greatest life’s lesson was: “It’s better to give than to receive.”
Sherri was preceded in death by her husband, John Pofahl; parents, Ed and Velma Ronsley; grandmother, Thena Goodpasture; sisters: De Murle Dew, Forrestine Griffith, and Eddina Dupree; and niece, Marinda Vera.
Sherri is survived by her son, John Pofahl Jr. and wife, Cori, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandson, Tyler Pofahl, and granddaughter, Zoie Pofahl, both of Oklahoma City; sister, Arlene Burton and husband, Jim, of Shawnee; brother, Eddy Ronsley and wife, Barbara, of Fresno, California; other family members and a host of friends; and Elsa, Sherri's 4-legged best friend.
A heartfelt thank you goes to: Tammie Townsend, friend and next-door angel, who cared for Sherri day and night before going to Colonial Estates; to her angels at Colonial Estates care facility; to Bristol Hospice for their care and compassion; and to AE Funeral Services for their understanding and kindness during this difficult time.
