Cheryl Cooper Avery, 66, of Folly Beach, South Carolina, passed away on May 22, 2025, in the arms of her family.
To honor Cheryl's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
Cheryl Lynn Cooper was born in California on November 23, 1958, to Winnie Byrd Cooper and David H Cooper.
Cheryl grew up in eastern Tennessee and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where she worked in retail for Leather and Wood for many years. Cheryl loved to dabble in many things from cat breeding, rock tumbling, painting, card games to bonsai trimming. She enjoyed reading, watching sunsets at the ocean, going to movies, watching cartoons, and all things supernatural. She was also a very proud YaYa to her grandsons. Cheryl was a massive fan of Sting's music.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her son, Bryson Richard Cooper Avery; mother, Winnie Byrd Cooper; brother, David H Cooper II; father, David H Cooper; maternal grandparents, Elzie A Byrd and Cecil Sharp Byrd; and paternal grandparents, Edgar Cooper and Velma Thedford Cooper Adams.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, David Avery; daughter, Carmody Tisdale; son-in-law, David Tisdale; grandchildren, Knox Tisdale and Bryce Tisdale; sister, Teresa Cameron; sister-in-law, Marilyn Cooper; her aunts, Wanda Byrd and Linda Buchanan; uncle, Darryl Byrd; her honorary daughter, Simril Kelly; her cat, Cassie; and other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, the family asks for you to take a moment and enjoy the next beautiful sunset that you see.
