Cheryl L. Bean, age 68, passed into the arms of Jesus on February 7, 2024, after an almost three-year battle with cancer. Cheryl was born on May 22, 1955, in Lafayette, IN to Donald and Wilma Smith.
Cheryl spent her career as a Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in Lafayette and Indianapolis. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1973, received her bachelor's degree in 1985 from Purdue University and maintained a 4.0 GPA on her master's degree in 1997 from Indiana University. Cheryl was also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nurses.
Cheryl enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Cheryl previously served on the Flora Monroe Township Library Board. She also volunteered for a number of years at the Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center in Kokomo and Frankfort, IN.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jerry Bean, her brother Harold (Denise) Smith of Ft. Myers FL, her daughter Angela (Tim) Eldridge of Laporte IN, and her grandchildren Leah, Jacob, and Luke.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father Donald and her mother Wilma Smith.
Memorial visitation will be held, Friday, February 16, 2024, from 5pm until the time of the service at 6:30pm at Victory in Christ Fellowship in Flora. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cheryl's honor to Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center in Kokomo and IU Hospice. Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Reinke Chapel is assisting with the arrangements.
Cheryl will be remembered as an amazing example of love and compassion, who made a difference in the lives of so many. Her devotion to her family, friends, patients, and Jesus will be remembered by all the lives she has touched.
