Cheryl Coons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Oxford on Dec. 8, 2025.
Cheryl Ann Coons, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 80. Born January 26, 1945, in Hoopeston, Illinois, Cheryl was the daughter of Clarence "Mike" and Lavonne McBride.
She was the devoted mother of Scott Creamer and his wife Marya, and Hans Creamer and his wife Becca. Cheryl was the cherished grandmother to Julia, Haley, Jillian, Lana, Lily, and Liam. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Coons, and her sister, Karla MacKay. She is survived by her sister Bette Joe McBride, and her niece and nephew, Cheryl Lynn and Kurt MacKay.
Cheryl was known for her caring and joyful spirit, her resilience, and her ability to light up any room. A survivor and a loyal friend, she was quick to laugh, share a witty remark, or tell a joke. She had a style all her own-often throwing together outfits that were effortlessly cute, carefree, and smart. She loved long skirts, fringe, and wraps, and carried herself with confidence and grace.
She was generous to a fault, willing to do anything for anyone, and while she had her imperfections-as we all do-her heart was always in the right place. Cheryl will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her love for family, and her ability to make others feel valued and loved. Her memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by those who knew her.
A memorial visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 1-3 PM
