Cheryl E. Coyer

Cheryl Eileen Coyer, age 82, of Saginaw Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Transitions of Saginaw.

Cheryl was born on November 18, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Howard and Leah (Kibby) Beem. Cheryl was married to Hank Coyer, who preceded her in death in October of 1999. She was known for her friendly nature-she loved talking with and befriending anyone she encountered. Cheryl also had a passion for decorating, always finding joy in making spaces feel warm and welcoming. She had a deep love for animals and cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life.

She is survived by her son, Bob Wetherbee; seven grandchildren, Tyler Wetherbee, Miguel Vargas (Megan Vargas), Amalia Vargas, Ariana Vargas, Alayna Mayer (Caleb Mayer), Mateo Vargas (Brianna Sting-Vargas), and Moises Vargas; and two great-grandchildren, Fiona Mayer and Finn Mayer. She is also survived by her sisters, Julie and Sue.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Vargas, who passed away in September of 2022, her parents, Howard Beem and Leah Kibby, and her brother, Howard Roy Beem.

Funeral service will take place 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private burial will be in Laporte Cemetery, Ingersol Township.

Cheryl will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, her conversations, her creativity, and her deep love for family and animals. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
