Cheryl Lynn Denton, 74, of Martinsville, passed away while surrounded by her family Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Bell Trace Health and Living Center in Bloomington.

Cheryl was born Friday, January 5, 1951 to the late Charles Irvin "Pig Eye" and Joanne (Carter) Stewart in Martinsville.

She attended Martinsville High School until her junior year, where Cheryl transferred to Petersburg High School to graduate. She always had on her pink lipstick and loved getting her hair done. Cheryl always invested in her Avon products. Cheryl enjoyed flowers and loved the company of her dogs, Patches, Spike, Sam, and Sophie. She most of all loved her family and cherished her time with her grandkids.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Robert Charles "Bob" Denton (K.J.) and Natalie Jo Decker (Steve); siblings, Gloria Miller, Robert "Bobby" Stewart, Arthur "Artie" Stewart, and Ronald "Ronnie" Stewart; grandchildren, David Decker, Austin Johnson (Kirsten), Gracie Johnson (Logan), Danielle Bruce; great-grandchildren, Claire Johnson and Chloe Jo Johnson; brothers-in-law, John Denton, Willy Denton, Jeff Denton, Charlie Denton, Donald Denton; sisters-in-law, Janice Riley and Debbie Sokeland; step daughter in law, Melissa Bruce.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert David "Bob" Denton, who passed October 9, 2018; parents, Pig Eye and Joanne; stepson, Keith Bruce; brother-in-law, George Denton; sisters-in-law, Judy Denton and Sue Denton.

Per Cheryl's wishes, there are no services planned at this time.
