Cheryl Dunn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home on Feb. 11, 2026.
Cheryl Marie Dunn, the pillar of her family and a beacon of benevolence in her community, peacefully passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on December 23, 1956, in Paris, Kentucky, Cheryl grew up with a close-knit family and was a cherished member of her hometown.

A proud graduate from Paris High School in 1975, Cheryl's kind nature was evident from her young years, and her education only strengthened her desire to give back to her community. Her career was a reflection of her altruistic spirit, as she dedicated much of her work to the service of others through her employment at Community Action.

Cheryl's life was grounded in her faith, and she was a devoted member of Prodigal's House Church. Her Christian beliefs steered her to live a life of compassion, seeing and responding to the needs of those around her. She is fondly remembered for her infectious laugh filling the room during Bingo games, her spontaneous karaoke performances, and her love for dancing, all of which brought joy to those who knew her.

Left to honor Cheryl and remember her love are her children, Tara (Michael) Weaver and Eddie Myers III; her beloved grandchildren, Michael Weaver Jr. and Joseph Weaver, who were her pride and joy; her sisters, Darlene (Keith) Taylor, Tamara Johnson, and Alma Dunn; her brothers, Leonard Russell, Tyrone Dunn, Rodney Dunn, Chuck Hamilton, and Van Dunn; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Dunn, Jr. and Celia Kohler Russell; her sisters, Eva Gaines and Lanora Ransom; and her brothers, Max Williams and Antione James.

Cheryl Marie Dunn was the embodiment of kindness, friendliness, and thoughtfulness. Her legacy is one filled with countless acts of generosity and love, echoing throughout the lives of everyone she encountered. May the memories of her unwavering kindness and her joyful approach to life continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. The world has lost a truly beautiful soul, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of many.
