She was the youngest of three daughters. As a child, she attended Little Flower Catholic School followed by Immaculate Conception High School, where she graduated in 1966. Cheryl earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Memphis State University. There she was Vice President of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Justice of Student Government, and recognized in the Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities.

After college Cheryl taught English for the Memphis City Schools before serving as Guidance Counselor at St. Louis Catholic School for 18 memorable years. Cheryl was president of the Pi Beta Phi alumna association, an active member of Madonna Circle and Circle Arts, a founding member of Church of the Holy Spirit where she served as Eucharistic Minister, and, in later years, a volunteer at Kirby Pines Retirement Community.

Cheryl loved art, classic movies, traveling and competitive games. She loved to host family and friends on holidays, special events and frequent casual gatherings. Cheryl was a loyal Memphis Tigers Basketball fan. Her most treasured times were trips with her family, including several to Europe, Disney World, The Don K Ranch in Colorado and in later years, the Florida beaches of Highway 30A.

We were neighbors and friends of Cheryl and Charlie for 35 years. You can search high and low across this great nation and never find better friends, neighbors and people like the Eatherlys. Cheryl was a mentor to our three children and an amazing support to all we ever needed. We are so grateful for the example of kindness and servitude she exemplified for me and our children.

I'm so sorry to hear of Cheryl's passing. She was so kind to me when I came to your house, Christie, to look at your out-grown clothes for my daughter, Bethany. What a generous person she was! I ran into her at a children's store and she lovingly showed me a picture of your son, Christie, and one of Chad. They looked alike! In heaven, no more sadness, no more pain. Blessings to all the family as you lay her to Rest. " Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4 " Martha Baker

My heart hurts seeing Cheryl has passed. We were great friends in high school and unfortunately lost touch when I moved to St Louis. She was always kind and inclusive.
