Cheryl A. (Carlow) Hetu, 67 of Cumberland, died August 16, 2022, in Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of David A. Hetu, Sr., whom she married on November 18, 1972 (49 years). Born and raised in Scituate, RI, she was the daughter of the late Freddy Carlow and Juliette (Vermette) Carlow.
Cheryl loved cooking, baking and horseback rides, panda bears, and lilacs, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Sitting at the table playing cards, building puzzles and sharing boundless love for her grandchildren. She was a mother to any and all in need, always opening up her home and heart without question.
Family meant the most to Cheryl, especially her husband David (Norman). It was love at first sight from when they first met at fifteen and they would share all of life's adventures by each other s side, regardless of what challenges they had to face. She was not only my wife, she was my life. David Hetu, Sr.
Besides her husband, David, she leaves their sons, David A. Hetu Jr., and his wife, Melissa, of Woonsocket, and Daniel Hetu of Cumberland; two grandchildren, Dylan and Cody Hetu; and her sister, Gail Enos of West Warwick.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022, beginning with visitation from 11 AM - 1 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs - Holy Trinity Parish - 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
