Cheryl Murnan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frederick Funeral Home on Aug. 1, 2025.
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we honor the memory of Cheryl Murnan, whose journey began on September 17, 1957, in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Raymond and late Lois (nee Bowling) Maggard. Cheryl, who made her home in Cleves, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Cheryl was a beloved wife, best friend, and partner to Mark Murnan for 34 cherished years. Together, they embraced life's adventures with open arms, whether exploring new corners of the world or savoring delightful dishes at fine dining restaurants. Cheryl was a devoted mother, nurturing Robert (fiancé Michele Torres) Murnan, Colleen Murnan, and her late son Brian (Emily) King. The laughter and love she shared with her grandchildren Nathan, Ryan, Mark, and Noah filled her life with joy and purpose.

As a sister to the late Raymond Maggard, Cheryl deeply understood the value of family and the bonds that tie us together. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and love that will forever resonate in the hearts of her numerous nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was a free spirit, finding solace in the pages of Stephen King's novels, a reflection of her imaginative soul. Her passion for travel, whether to far-off destinations or nearby adventures, manifested her love for exploration and discovery. More than anything, her family was the heart of her existence, and sharing moments with them brought her boundless happiness.

The family will hold services at their convenience, celebrating Cheryl's extraordinary life in a way that honors her spirit. In lieu of flowers, cherished friends and loved ones are invited to contribute to the Good Samaritan Foundation, C/O Medical/Surgical ICU, 375 Dixmyth Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45220, to help support others in need.

Savoring cherished memories, we will forever hold Cheryl close in our hearts. Her love will continue to light our paths, and as we reflect on her beautiful life, we invite you to join us in celebrating her journey, filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
