Roberts Funeral Home - Mount Vernon ChapelCheryl “Sherry” Ann Davis, 71, of Centerburg, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at her home in Centerburg. Sherry was born October 15, 1954 at Lockbourne AFB in Columbus, OH to Carey Lawrence Davis and Dixie Louise {Wolf} Turner.
She worked at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center for decades until she retired. She poured her life into these adults who needed a wide range of different types of care and assistance. She cared deeply for them. She was also very family oriented, ready to do anything they needed indoors or outside. She was the first one to show up to help with anything and the last one to leave. Quiet, she watched and took everything in. She loved animals. She always had cats, dogs and loved watching the many animals passing through her yard. She had many special animals through her life. She will be missed by her beloved dog “Moose.”
Sherry will be deeply missed by her brother Greg (Debra) Davis; niece Stacy (Mike) Idleman; nephews Brian (Ann) Davis, Joshua Morrison, John (Lisa) Morrison and James Morrison; eight great nephews, four great nieces, six great great nephews and a great great niece; step-sisters Vikki Richards, Roxi Turner and Pam Neipling, and a large extended family too many to name. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Pamela (Davis) Morrison and Kimberly Summers, and step-sister Teresa Turner.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Knox County Humane Society. https://www.knoxhumanesociety.org/
