Mrs. Cheryl Anne Parham Smith, 71, of Corinth Church Road, Bowman, wife of 53 years to Danny Wayne Smith, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at her residence.
Cheryl was born in Royston on January 25, 1954, daughter of the late William Aaron “Fish” Parham and Druewillie Loyd Parham. She was a 1972 graduate of Madison County High School and a member of Mill Shoal Baptist Church.Cheryl worked as a paraprofessional at Bowman Elementary School until her retirement.
She devoted much of her time to the Elbert Theatre, serving onstage as an actor for many productions as well as a former member of the Elbert Theatre Foundation Board. Cheryl was instrumental in getting first-run movies going in Elberton in 2015. Above all, she loved her family dearly and was a devoted “Grandma” to her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Danny, she is survived by her children and their spouses: Michelle and Roy Oliver of Royston, Michael and Pam Smith of Bowman, Jason and Breanne Smith of Bowman, and Kayla and Cody Smith of Royston; sister, Connie Ray of Royston; ten grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Brenda Jordan and Ronnie Parham.
At Cheryl’s request, no celebration of life events are planned.
In lieu of flowers, contributions made be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
