Cheryl Vasone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Asheville Area Alternative Funeral & Cremation Services - Asheville on Dec. 8, 2025.
Cheryl Ann Vasone, 68, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. She was surrounded by her family and friends in Asheville, North Carolina- the city where she was born on July 9, 1957. Her life began and ended in the place she called home.

Cheryl was known for her generous spirit and unwavering kindness. She carried herself with grace and touched the lives of many through her selflessness and compassion. Always ready to lend a helping hand, she gave freely of herself without expectation. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence brought light to those around her.

Her deep faith was a guiding force throughout her life, offering strength and comfort during times of hardship. Cheryl held her beliefs close and found peace in her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She cherished walking by the lake and embarking on fun adventures with her family. Cheryl also had a deep passion for working with children, always striving to ensure they felt loved and supported.

Though Cheryl's time on earth ended too soon, the impact of her warmth and love continues to resonate with those who knew her. May her memory bring peace and comfort to all who carry it forward.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Karl Vasone; Daughter and best friend, Anna Maynor and husband Chad; stepson, Justin Vasone; sister, Samra and husband James Parks. Niece, Ashley Watts; and aunt, Loretta Anderson and late husband Richard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Bernice Hensley; Grandparents, Dewey and Vera Rice; and aunt, Dorthy "Dottie" Burton and husband, Howard.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to follow.
